Winemakers Notes
The 2020 vintage was a winemaker’s dream, with dry and warm summer which continued into the fall, along with cool evenings. We were able to let the grapes hang a little longer to develop dark fruit flavours and a rich tannin profile. This is especially important in the making of fortified wine, so that the structure and balance of the wine, matches the slightly higher alcohol content.
Tasting Notes
Deep Purple colour. Cherry, chocolate and a touch of tobacco on the nose. Dried cranberry and cherry compote, with a touch of clove and all-spice. Full- bodied with good acidity and balanced residual sugar with dark fruit and soft oak finish.
